Serve at YD Camp!

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Young Disciple Camp staff volunteer! Every summer, God works in powerful ways, and we know He has incredible plans for this year, too. Many young people trace their decision to follow Christ back to the encouragement and care of YD Camp staff.

YD Camp is a life-changing experience—whether you're a camper, counselor, or staff volunteer. We’re looking for dedicated Christians to lead and assist in various roles. If you’re passionate about helping young people grow in their walk with God, we encourage you to apply!

Before filling out your application, please take a moment to review the following information. Staff positions are limited, so apply early!

Staff information

When to arrive: If driving, plan to arrive at YD by 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 14 or 21. If you are flying in, Young Disciple provides airport service for those whose flights arrive at Spokane airport by 2:30 pm on July 14 or 21, and depart after 1:00 pm on July 21 or 28. Please send a copy of your flight itinerary to the YD office at least three weeks prior to camp.

Accommodations: You will receive room and board while at camp. Lodging will be in simple cabins with electricity; bathrooms are a short walk away. For those bringing RV's we are able to provide power but not septic hookups.

Finances: Young Disciple Youth Bible Camp is an outreach ministry. Since camper revenues do not cover the expenses of operating the camp we rely on staff members who can serve on a volunteer basis. The sharing of your time is a gift that will have eternal results. Thank you!

Meals: You’ll enjoy YD’s famous vegetarian, low sugar, non-dairy meals while at camp! Unfortunately, we are not able to provide specialized meals for all dietary needs, however we do plan on providing gluten-free options for those who have requested them ahead of time. If you require these, please be sure to mark that option in the medical section of your application.

Parents: Parents of campers are welcomed as staff volunteers. We especially need help in the area of food service! Children of staff parents will stay in regular camp units and will be subject to camp authority.

Childcare: We regret that YD has no provisions for day care for staff members' children. Staff children may apply as regular campers if they are at least 9 years old. Many underage campers have been greatly blessed by camp, while others have experienced homesickness or other concerns. We encourage parents to call the camp office before submitting applications for underage children so that we can discuss the options that may work best for your family.

Camper information: Please contact us if you would like to receive a Camper Information packet, or if you would like us to send information to prospective campers.

Staff responsibilities: Not sure what the staff needs are at YD Camp? Read the Staff Job Descriptions to find out how you can use your talents to reach out to young people at YD Camp this summer.

Applications

We request each potential staff member to fill out and return an application. If you are not sure you will be available to serve, you are welcome to send your application anyway, along with a note to say your plans are still tentative. Those who have held a previous staff position at camp should use the Returning Staff Application. If you are applying for a counselor position, please fill out the Counselor Application or the Returning Counselor Application.

Please take a few minutes to read the *Camp Codes and Guidelines before filling out a staff application.
